PNRD Assam Recruitment 2026
The Commissionerate of Panchayat & Rural Development, Assam has announced a new recruitment drive for 1508 contractual vacancies under several major government schemes. These positions are offered under programmes such as MGNREGA, PMAY-G, and the Finance Commission Grants. Educational Qualification
Accredited Engineer: Candidates must have a Diploma in Civil Engineering along with a Diploma in Computer Application. Applicants should also possess good knowledge and practical experience in using mobile-based applications.
Gram Rozgar Sahayak, Computer Assistant & Gram Panchayat Coordinator: Candidates should be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university or institution with at least 50% marks. Degrees obtained through Distance Education mode approved by DEC, UGC, or AICTE will also be accepted. In addition, applicants must have a Diploma in Computer Application of minimum six months duration and should be familiar with mobile applications.
Age Limit

Step 2: Register using your basic details and generate login credentials.
Step 3: Log in and fill in the application form with personal and educational information.
Step 4: Upload your recent passport-size photograph (white background, JPEG, max 100 KB) and scanned signature (black or dark blue ink, JPEG, max 100 KB). If the image size is large, you can reduce it using the online tool. Image Compressor.

Step 6: Review all details, click on the “Complete” button, and download the registration slip for future use.
Candidates must choose their preferred post under Paper-1 (Gram Panchayat Coordinator, Computer Assistant, or Gram Rozgar Sahayak) at the time of application. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria for both Paper-1 and Paper-2 can submit separate applications for each examination.

Selection Process
Stage 1: Written Examination (75 Marks)
The recruitment process will begin with an OMR-based written test consisting of 75 questions, each carrying 1 mark. The total duration of the examination will be 2 hours. Negative marking will be applicable, where 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer. In case a candidate selects more than one option for a question carrying 2 marks, 0.5 marks will be deducted.
The question paper will include topics such as Domain Knowledge, Computer Skills, Logical Reasoning, Aptitude and Comprehension, History and Culture of Assam and India, and General Awareness. For the Accredited Engineer post, additional technical subject-related questions will also be included.
There will be two separate papers. Paper-I will be conducted for the posts of Gram Panchayat Coordinator, Computer Assistant, and Gram Rozgar Sahayak, while Paper-II will be for Accredited Engineer. Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria for both can apply separately for each examination.
Stage 2: Viva Voce / Interview (25 Marks)
Candidates who successfully qualify in the written examination will be shortlisted for the viva voce or interview, which will carry 25 marks. The final merit list will be prepared post-wise and category-wise based on the combined performance in both stages.
Stage 3: Merit and Tie-Breaking Criteria
In case two or more candidates obtain the same marks, preference will be given to the older candidate in age. If both marks and date of birth are the same, the candidate with higher educational qualifications will be placed higher in the merit list.
