NEET 2026 Online Registration

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the NEET UG 2026 online registration for aspiring medical students. This exam is required for admission to undergraduate medical courses including MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS, and B.Sc Nursing across India. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for NEET 2026 via the official NEET portal from 8 February 2026 to 8 March 2026. NEET UG 2026 Registration Details

Exam Name: NEET UG 2026 – The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to undergraduate medical courses across India.

Exam Date: 3 May 2026 – The exam will be held in a single session from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (IST).

Conducting Authority: National Testing Agency (NTA) – Responsible for organizing and conducting NEET UG 2026 nationwide.

NEET UG 2026 Examination Details

Exam Pattern: NEET UG 2026 will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology).

Duration & Marks: The exam will be 180 minutes (3 hours) long with a total of 720 marks. Each correct answer carries +4 marks, and -1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.

Mode & Shift: The exam will be conducted offline in Pen and Paper mode as a single-day, single-shift test.

Languages: NEET UG 2026 will be available in 13 languages, including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Military Nursing Service (MNS): Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc Nursing courses at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals must qualify NEET UG. The NEET score will be used for selection to the four-year B.Sc Nursing program in 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET UG 2026

Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 17 years old on or before 31 December 2026. This means individuals born on or before 31 December 2009 are eligible to apply. As per the latest National Medical Commission (NMC) notification, there is no upper age limit for NEET UG 2026. You can verify your eligibility using the Age Calculator.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have completed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English. Those appearing in Class 12 in 2026 can apply provisionally, but must pass the qualifying exam before the first round of counselling.

Nationality: Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply for NEET UG 2026.

NEET UG 2026 Qualifying Criteria and Percentile

General & General-EWS: Candidates must secure at least the 50th percentile in NEET UG 2026 to be eligible for admission to undergraduate medical courses.

SC / ST / OBC-NCL: Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) must achieve a minimum of the 40th percentile.

PwBD Candidates: Candidates with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) need to score at least the 45th percentile if they belong to the General or General-EWS category, and a minimum of 40th percentile if they belong to SC/ST/OBC-NCL categories.

How to Apply for NEET UG 2026

Applicants can submit their NEET UG 2026 forms online only by following these steps:

Step 1: Go to the official NEET website at neet.nta.nic.in. For convenience, a direct link is also provided in the Important Weblinks section below.

Step 2: Click on “Register for NEET UG 2026” and provide your basic information including full name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID. Once submitted, a unique application number will be generated automatically.

Step 3: Log in with your application number and password to complete the form. Enter personal details, academic records, preferred exam centres, and select the medium of question paper.

Step 4: Upload all required scanned documents, including a recent passport-size photograph (taken after 1 January 2026), signature, left and right thumb impressions, and any other mandatory files. You can use the Image Resize Tool to adjust photographs to the specified dimensions.

Step 5: Pay the application fee online using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI. Ensure you save the payment confirmation for your records.

Step 6: After successful payment, download and print the confirmation page. Keep multiple copies for future reference during counselling or admission.

Note: Each candidate is allowed to submit only one application. Submitting multiple applications will result in rejection and cancellation of candidature. Applications submitted through any mode other than online will not be considered. There is no need to send the confirmation page or any supporting documents to NTA by post, email, fax, or in person.

Important Instructions for NEET UG 2026 Online Application

Candidates must ensure that the mobile number and email ID provided in the online application form belong to themselves or their parents/guardians, as NTA will communicate all important updates exclusively through SMS or email. The information entered in the form will be considered final once the application fee is paid and the confirmation page is generated, and any requests for changes will only be accepted during the official correction window. It is recommended that candidates keep 6–8 recent passport-size coloured photographs with a white background for use throughout the application, examination, and counselling or admission processes, and the same photograph should be used consistently across all NEET UG 2026 documents.

Candidates are strictly prohibited from bringing mobile phones, calculators, electronic watches, geometry boxes, or any other communication devices to the examination centre. All candidates will undergo thorough frisking at the entry points using highly sensitive metal detectors to ensure compliance with examination regulations and maintain a secure environment during NEET UG 2026.

Counselling and Admission Process for NEET UG 2026

All admissions to undergraduate medical and dental courses in India will be based on NEET UG 2026 scores. Counselling for successful candidates under the 15% All India Quota and for Central Institutions such as AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC, and Central Universities (including DU, BHU, and AMU), as well as Deemed Universities, will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). Counselling for seats managed by State Governments, Union Territory administrations, or State Universities will be carried out by the respective state authorities.

For BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, and BHMS courses, the AYUSH Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) will manage counselling for All India Quota seats. The reservation policy for NEET UG 2026 includes 10% of seats for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 15% for Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 27% for Other Backward Classes in the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), and a 5% horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
