Computer-Based Examination (CBE) – SSC MTS 2026

Candidates appearing for the SSC MTS 2026 exam must take the Computer-Based Examination (CBE) conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. The exam will be held in two mandatory sessions: Session-I and Session-II. Failure to attempt any session will result in disqualification.

Question Type: The CBE will consist of objective-type, multiple-choice questions. Session-I questions will be available in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages (as detailed in Annexure-XV). The General Awareness section in Session-II will also follow the same multilingual format.

Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking in Session-I. In Session-II, one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer, so candidates should answer carefully.

Time Duration: Each session will last 45 minutes. Candidates eligible for scribes (as per Para 8 of the official notification) will get 60 minutes per session.

Normalization of Scores: If the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, marks will be normalized using the formula provided by the Commission (Notice No: 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02-2019). These normalized scores will determine the final merit and cut-off marks.
