This is not the direct admission to the D.El.Ed. course. SCERT Assam conducts the PET (Pre-Entry Test) as an entrance exam. Only candidates who qualify in this test become eligible for admission into the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Assam D.EL.ED Admission 2025

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam has issued the official notification for admission to the 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) program for the academic session 2025–2027. Aspiring and eligible candidates are required to submit an online application for the Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2025, which is mandatory for enrollment in the course.

This D.El.Ed. program will be offered at NCTE-recognized Teacher Education Institutes across the state, including DIETs, CTEs, Normal Schools, BTCs, and approved Private TEIs.

Assam D.EL.ED Admission Details

Course Name: Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.)

Course Duration: 2 Years

Total Seats Available: Approximately 4200 (As per reference)

Academic Year: 2025 to 2027

Conducting Authority: State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam

Entrance Examination: Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2025

Examination Date: 13th July 2025 (Sunday)

Application Fee: All candidates must pay an application fee of Rs. 600/- (Rupees Six Hundred only) irrespective of category. The fee should be paid online via Internet Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or Wallet.

Pre-Entry Test (PET) Exam Centre: The examination centre for PET 2025 will be allotted based on the district chosen by the candidate during the online application process. The assigned venue will be specified on the admit card. Candidates will be allotted seats in Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) located within the same district where they appear for the PET 2025.
Starting from 5th July 2025, candidates can download their SCERT Assam D.El.Ed PET 2025 admit cards from the official website https://scertpet.co.in. To obtain the admit card, applicants need to enter their Application Number along with their Date of Birth used during the online application process.

Assam D.EL.ED Eligibility Requirements

Nationality: Only Indian citizens who are permanent residents of Assam are eligible to apply for the D.El.Ed. course.


Educational Qualification: Applicants must have passed the Higher Secondary (HS) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board/Council with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (excluding optional/extra/fourth subjects).

Note: Candidates below 50% in HS Examination are not eligible. They might be benefited due to Marks Relaxations 

Marks Relaxation: Candidates belonging to SC/ST/ST(H) categories will receive a 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks.



Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 18 years old and should not exceed 34 years of age as of 1st July 2025.

Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is extended by 2 years for SC, ST(P), and ST(H) candidates.



Reservation of Seats: Seats will be reserved for candidates belonging to OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) as per the existing reservation norms set by the Government of Assam.

How to Apply for D.EL.ED Admission 2025

Candidates interested in the SCERT Assam 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) Course for 2025–2027 can apply online through the official SCERT Assam website. The online application process will open from 18 May 2025.
