The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the official notification for the 2026 recruitment of Constable (GD) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 25,487 vacancies across forces including BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR, and SSF.

Pay Level – 3 (₹21,700 to ₹69,100) for all posts.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed the Matriculation or 10th Class Examination from a recognized Board/University as of 1 January 2026.
Nationality/Citizenship
Candidate must be a citizen of India.
Age Limit
Candidates must be aged between 18 and 23 years as on 1 January 2026. They should not have been born earlier than 2 January 2003 and not later than 1 January 2008.
Age Relaxation
Upper age relaxation is 3 years for OBC and Ex-Servicemen, and 5 years for SC and ST candidates. Refer to the official notification for more details.
Application Fee
₹100. Women, SC, ST, and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) candidates are exempt.
Application Form Correction
Corrections can be made between 8–10 January 2026. The fee is ₹200 for the first correction and ₹500 for the second.
Selection Process
The recruitment stages include: 1. Computer Based Examination (CBE), 2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test (PST), 3. Detailed Medical Examination (DME), and 4. Document Verification (DV).

The exam is computer-based, objective type, for 60 minutes. Each wrong answer will incur a 0.25 mark penalty. Questions are in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages including Assamese.
