SSC CGL Exam Eligibility Criteria

Educational Requirements:
1. Junior Statistical Officer (JSO):
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university, along with a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics at the 10+2 level,
OR
a degree that includes Statistics as one of the main subjects at the graduation level.
2. Statistical Investigator Grade-II:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree with Statistics as a subject. It is mandatory that Statistics was studied in all three years or across all six semesters of the course.
3. For All Other Positions:
A Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized institution is required.
Nationality
Candidates eligible to apply include Indian citizens and certain other groups recognized by the government, such as:
- Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan
- Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before January 1, 1962
- Persons of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, Vietnam, or similar places to settle in India

SSC CGL Examination Structure

1. Type of Questions: The Tier-I examination features objective, multiple-choice questions. Except for the English Comprehension section, all questions will be available in both English and Hindi.
2. Marking Scheme: Each incorrect answer will incur a deduction of 0.50 marks as negative marking.
3. Time Allotment: Candidates will have 60 minutes to complete the exam. However, those eligible for a scribe (as outlined in Paras 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3 of the official notice) will be provided with 80 minutes.
4. Score Normalization: In case the examination is held in multiple shifts, the marks obtained will be normalized using the method specified in Commission Notice No. 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02-2019. The normalized scores will be considered for preparing the final merit list and determining the cut-off marks.
