Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) has officially announced the GNM Entrance Examination (GNMEE) 2025 through a notification published on 8th May 2025. This entrance exam is being organized for students seeking admission into the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) courses offered by various recognized medical institutes across Assam.
All candidates interested in enrolling in GNM courses under the Directorate of Health Services, Assam—whether in government or private institutions—must appear for the GNMEE 2025. The examination is scheduled to take place on 13th July 2025 at different examination centres throughout the state.

Assam GNM Admission Eligibility Requirements 2025
Educational Requirements: To be eligible for the GNM course, candidates must meet any of the following academic qualifications:
- Passed 10+2 with English and preferably Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) securing a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate.
- Completed 10+2 in Arts stream with English Core/Elective or Health Care Science (Vocational) from a recognized board such as AISSCE, CBSE, ICSE, SSCE, or any equivalent board with at least 40% marks. Accepted subjects include: Mathematics, Biotechnology, Political Science, Economics, History, Geography, Sociology, Psychology, Accountancy, Business Studies, Philosophy, and Home Science.
- Completed 10+2 vocational ANM course from CBSE or any equivalent board, with a minimum of 40% marks, and the institution must be recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
- Candidates registered as Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) with their respective State Nursing Registration Council are also eligible.
Age Criteria: Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2025, and the upper age limit is 35 years. However, there is no upper age restriction for candidates holding RANM (Registered ANM) or RLHV (Registered Lady Health Visitor) qualifications.
Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for GNM admission under this notification
