Assam Polytechnic Admission 2025
The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam has announced the Polytechnic Admission 2025 notification. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for admission into 3-year Diploma courses in Engineering and Technology offered by State Government Polytechnics across Assam for the academic session 2025–26.
According to the 2024 notification, a total of 4,425 seats are available across 22 different Diploma programmes in Government Polytechnics of the state.

As per the official notification, the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) is discontinued from the 2024-25 session. Admissions will be based on HSLC exam marks, with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects.
Assam Polytechnic Eligibility Requirements
1. Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 16 years old by December 31, 2025. There is no upper age limit.
2. Residency: Candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam. A Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) is required during counseling. Provisional admission may be granted upon presenting a PRC application receipt along with an undertaking to submit the final PRC within 60 days. Failure to submit the PRC within this period will result in cancellation of the seat.
3. Educational Qualification: Candidates should have cleared the H.S.L.C. or an equivalent examination in one attempt, with compulsory subjects Mathematics and Science. They must have successfully passed both the Theory and Practical parts of Mathematics and Science separately.

➥ From the academic session 2024–25 onwards, the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) has been discontinued.
➥ Admission to diploma courses under DTE, Assam will now be based on HSLC marks, with Mathematics and Science as mandatory subjects.
➥ Candidates must ensure they meet the minimum qualifying percentage as per their category.
➥ A valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) of Assam is required at the time of counselling.
➥ Candidates failing to submit the PRC within 60 days of admission will have their seat cancelled.
