The Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam has released the official notification for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination 2025. Students of Class VIII are invited to apply online for the examination scheduled on 15th November 2025 across Assam. NMMS Scholarship Exam Eligibility
Class: Students pursuing studies in Class VIII are eligible to appear for the NMMS Examination.
School: The scholarship is applicable only to students of Government and Provincialised schools under the Department of School Education, Assam. Students of Private schools, as well as those studying in JNVs and KVs, may take part in the examination but will not be entitled to receive the scholarship.
Scholarship Amount
Candidates qualifying in the NMMS Examination will be awarded a scholarship of Rs 12,000 annually for each of the Classes IX, X, XI, and XII. However, to avail this benefit, the student’s parental income must be below Rs 3.5 lakhs per year as per the Ministry of Education norms.
NMMS Exam Fee
