APSC Recruutment Eligibility Criteria

Nationality & Domicile: Applicants must be Indian citizens in accordance with Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and should be permanent residents of Assam. A valid Permanent Resident Certificate or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate must be uploaded as proof of domicile.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have at least passed Class VIII and at most HSSLC (Class 12) or an equivalent examination. According to the government notification, applicants possessing qualifications above the maximum limit on the date of application will not be considered eligible. A self-declaration as specified in ‘Annexure-I’ must be submitted.

Age Limit: Candidates must be aged between 18 and 40 years as of 1st January 2025. Age relaxation is allowed as follows: 2 years for Ex-Servicemen, 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates, and 10 years for Persons with Disability (PwD). Click here to calculate your age.

Selection Process for APSC Grade IV

The selection process will be conducted in two phases:

Phase-I (Screening Test): The Commission will hold a screening test using OMR-based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) to shortlist candidates. The test will carry 100 marks and have a duration of 2 hours. The questions will be set at the level of Class VI, VII, and VIII. The syllabus for the test is as follows:
