Eligibility Criteria for SBI PO Recruitment 2025

Candidates wishing to apply for SBI PO 2025 must fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

◼️Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years of age as on 1st April 2025. They should have been born between 2nd April 1995 and 1st April 2004 (both dates inclusive).

◼️Age Relaxation: Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per Government rules for reserved categories.

◼️Educational Qualification: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

◼️Final Year Students: Candidates who are in their final year/semester of graduation are also eligible to apply provisionally. However, they must produce proof of passing the graduation exam on or before 30th September 2025, if called for the interview.

◼️Additional Qualifications : Candidates with professional degrees such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant (CA), or Cost Accountant are also eligible to apply.

Selection Process of SBI PO Recruitment 2025

The recruitment process for SBI Probationary Officer (PO) 2025 is divided into three rigorous stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and the final assessment phase, which includes a Psychometric Test, Group Exercise, and Personal Interview. This multi-tiered evaluation is designed to holistically assess candidates on their aptitude, communication, analytical ability, and personality traits.

Phase 1: Preliminary Examination

This initial screening test is conducted online and carries a total of 100 marks. It consists of three sections:
  • English Language – 40 marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude – 30 marks
  • Reasoning Ability – 30 marks
The total duration is 1 hour, with each section individually timed for 20 minutes. Candidates are shortlisted for the next stage based on aggregate performance, and nearly 10 times the total number of vacancies will advance to the Main Examination.

Phase 2: Main Examination

This stage includes two components:
  • Objective Test – 200 marks
  • Descriptive Test – 50 marks
The Objective Test covers:
  • Reasoning & Computer Aptitude
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation
  • General/Economic/Banking Awareness
  • English Language

Each section has a fixed time limit. The Descriptive Test assesses written communication skills through an essay and a letter, both to be typed on a computer. The combined time allotted for both tests is 3 hours and 30 minutes.
