1. Nationality/Citizenship

Selection Process
The selection of candidates for this recruitment will follow a three-stage process. Below is a brief overview of each stage:
Stage I – INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test)
Candidates will first undergo a nationwide computer-based test (INET) for shortlisting. The shortlisting will be determined based on the marks obtained in this test and will be conducted state-wise, as vacancies are allocated accordingly. The cut-off marks for advancing to the next stage may vary from state to state.

Syllabus: The question paper will be based on the 10+2 level syllabus. The syllabus and sample papers for the exam are available in the Important Weblinks section.
Negative Marking: For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. Each question has four options, with only one correct answer.
Note: Candidates must secure passing marks in each section and the overall aggregate. The Indian Navy reserves the right to set the minimum qualifying marks for both individual sections and the total score.
Stage-II: Written Exam, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), and Initial Medical
Candidates who qualify in the INET (computer-based test) will receive a call-up letter for Stage-II, which includes a written examination, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), and an initial medical assessment. This stage will be conducted at designated Indian Navy centers. The syllabus for the written examination is available in the Important Weblinks section.
1. Physical Fitness Test
Clearing the PFT is mandatory for further selection. Candidates who fail the PFT will not proceed to the next stages. Participation in the PFT is at the candidate’s own risk. The test details are as follows:

2. Written Examination
Candidates who qualify for the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will be eligible to appear for the Stage II Written Examination. The key details of this exam are as follows:
The test consists of 100 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark.
The exam will be conducted in both Hindi and English and will be objective-type.
The paper is divided into four sections: English, Science, Mathematics, and General Awareness.
The difficulty level will be 10+2 standard, and syllabus & sample papers can be accessed in the Important Weblinks section.
The exam duration is 1 hour.
Candidates must pass each section and the overall aggregate. The Indian Navy will decide the qualifying marks.
Exam centers will be allotted at the sole discretion of the Indian Navy.
Initial Medical Examination
Candidates who clear the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will undergo an Initial Medical Examination. Those declared fit at this stage will be considered “Provisionally Fit”, pending their Final Medical Examination. Candidates found unfit can appeal the decision at a designated military hospital within 21 days, as allocated by the Indian Navy. No further appeals will be entertained.
Merit List
The merit list will be prepared based on candidates' performance in the Stage-II Written Exam, provided they qualify in the PFT and Initial Medical Examination. The state-wise merit list for Agniveer (SSR) Male & Female will determine the cut-off marks for the Final Recruitment Examination at INS Chilka, which may differ from state to state.
Stage-III: Final Medical Examination
The Final Recruitment Medical Examination for shortlisted candidates will be conducted at INS Chilka. Candidates declared medically fit will be officially recruited, while those found medically unfit may appeal at INHS Nivarini or INHS Kalyani within 21 days. No further appeals will be allowed after this stage.
